This 15 hour (2 day) certification training defines The TTAP Method ™, emerging as the first non-pharmaceutical modality that utilizes all the creative art therapies in a 12-step structured and replicable approach based on Cognitive Reserve Theory. This recognized “Best Practice Approach” incorporates person-centered programming through the use of conversation based upon themes of our lives (environmental, weather, seasons or personal, love family vacations). The TTAP Method™, proven in over 20 clinical research studies (14 in the US, and 7 in Finland) to enhance cognition and psychosocial well-being in the well elderly, individuals in community day programs, and those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Participants will learn how this multimodal approach enhances emotional interactions, stimulates socialization, and increases cognitive functioning by providing a systematic approach for stimulating all areas of the brain. Case studies will be presented on the latest research out of Edward Hospital, validating the method also effects decrease in falls, decrease in aggressive behaviors and increases in staff retention and staff contentment. All participants will experience how to conduct a guided meditation, and apply “what comes up” in the 12 steps of the TTAP Method™, adapted for any population. Upon completion of the mandatory 2 day certification program participants are REQUIRED to conduct and submit the results of a case study utilizing the TTAP approach with one or more clients, patients or residents.
